Theorycrafting gaining popularity finally

There are many more online resources for WOW compared to SWTOR. This makes sense, people had more years to create content for WOW than they had months to create content for SWTOR. One thing that I was missing in SWTOR is a good theory crafting site, like Elitist Jerks. What's more important to invest in? crit, alacrity or surge? You can try to do some calculations yourself, try to play a bit with the numbers, but to get a real, definite answer you need data gathered by many people, you need class experts who really tested things and did the research, you need deep intelligent discussions and conclusions. You need "Elitist Jerks", or more precisely a SWTOR site similar to elitistjerks.com.

Well, finally I found one sithwarrior.com, it's not that new, but it's been gaining huge popularity lately and as a result, now contains ton of data for all classes, deep and very interesting discussions, impressive amount of theory crafting numbers and tests. Exactly what you need to be able to really dig into maximizing your class performance.
I really enjoy these type of sites, even if I don't necessarily agree with everything everyone posts, there is no doubt 1 person can't come up with all the information available there. Not to mention that I also use it for classes that are new to me, which is a great way to understand the mechanics better and improve your skills playing your characters.

I think this type of research is what makes the really good players good, it's nice to have good reaction time, situation awareness, experience, but if you don't understand your class mechanics well, you'll hit a skill progression wall. If your answer to the question "What's your stat priority and gearing strategy?" is "I don't know", than you aren't as skilled player as you could be. That's fine, you can still do well and enjoy the game, not everyone has to be an "Elitist Jerk", but many people want to improve and maximize their performance and these are the type of resources that will help you do exactly that.

It's really nice to see how with time the community is growing, there are many sites today that are very new and very useful for people who are interested to know a bit more about the game than you get by just playing it. The forums are starting to really flood with discussions, SWTOR sites appear on a daily basis and there is a lot of great information for people who are willing to look for it. I'm sure there is still a lot more to come and many more resources that us players will appreciate. The game is really starting to build a strong online presence.
